Middle School Dance

Well, today is not just any ordinary Friday in the DeWeil family. Today is the first Middle School Dance for Mycah. Not the formal, dressy up kind, but the after school, fun with your friends kind.

The morning started off with a very easy to get up Mycah, not very typical--as she loves to sleep in like I do. :) Breakfast, shower, clothes, hair dried, and then to pick the shoes. She looked so pretty going to school. She wore an outfit that she and her friend had planned to wear together--yes...they have on matching outfits. The shoes to wear were quite the dilemma. She settled on her zebra print dansco-like shoes. Too cute. The only issue...she has gym today, 2nd period. Oh well, maybe they won't get too sweaty. :)

It got me thinking about all of my middle school dances. They were so much fun, but, like I told Mycah, we did very little dancing and mostly just hanging out and talking. I shared with her that there may have been the occasional slow dance with a boy or a group dance as they played some sappy song about friends at the end of the year, but that was about it. I told her she better get her friends together and do the Cha Cha Slide or Cupid Shuffle if they played it...2 of my absolute faves.

I am thinking about a throwing a dance party at the house as soon as I am well enough to dance. What if we made it like a middle school dance? That would be HILARIOUS! So, if you get an invite, I expect your best teased hair, neon colors, puffy sleeves, and lots of hair product--both girls and guys!

Have fun reminiscing today...I know I will, and will be laughing at myself tons! :)
Here's to hoping for a very fun first middle school dance for Mycah!
I am sure there will be some of this happening today! Some wild and crazy stuff with best friends!
(OK, maybe no sunglasses though)
