just have to share

I know...it's crazy.
3 posts in 1 day!
This will be short and sweet.

I recently changed my desktop background on my computer and find reasons to shut my programs, at work & home, so I can look at it. I had to share it with you!
I love these 3 so very very much! Makes my heart smile for sure!

Mycah Turns 12!!!

We celebrated Mycah's birthday just a few days after her "real" birthday, but it was special and great all the same. We can't believe how much she has grown and matured over this last year. Middle school, eyeliner, phones, texting, drama, growth with her relationship with Jesus, Fuse, small groups, and sleepovers. Just some of the many things that have made this year fun! We love you Mycah and are so very proud of you! Enjoy this recap of her special special birthday!!

snug as a bug in a rug

Oh. Hey!
It's me again!
Yes. I do realize that I have been on an unintentional hiatus from sharing life with you all. but...I'm back!
With lots of updates and pics to come very, very soon.

Just had to share this with you.

Last night we had the girls with us. My, oh my, how we had been missing them since Thursday evening!
We had a yummy taco dinner (which Scott admitted he is burnt out on. really? who ever gets tired of tacos? my sweet, adorable, loving, important husband, that is who!). We made cookies...a staple of dessert when the kiddos are here. (don't be thinking we are parents of the year, just some break & bake. delicious all the same) Had some family challenges on Wii Mario Kart. (Scott is the best, oh yes!) Then we all 4 snuggled up on our couch to watch 2 Christmas movies (you know, the 30 min kind). While Sienna was snuggled up with Scott, Mycah wanted me to scratch her back.

So, with Mycah across my legs and snuggled, Sienna snuggled up with Scott and Holly Berry--the newest addition to our family!!! (We are super excited that Santa sent us a Scout Elf named Holly Berry! She is so very cool and we will share pix very soon! Oh, Sienna was able to snuggle with her last night only. As soon as we went to sleep, and Holly returned the to the North Pole, she would have her magic Elf dust. Once we see that elf dust, pretty sparkly red/green/white dust, we can't touch her anymore or she will lose her magic. Yes!! There was dust around our house this morning! So exciting!)

We all cuddled up to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas & The Elf on the Shelf Movie. It was an extra special fun night for sure. Then, both girls wanted to sleep in the same room. Mycah's room was the choice for last night. We got them all squared away, prayers prayed over them, and then I sat there taking in the moment. I wanted to always remember the simple, yet amazing, memories of tonight. I was cherishing how sweet Mycah was to Sienna as we discovered our Elf, Holly. Saw the sweetness in both girls as they snuggled and enjoyed the magic of Christmas. Heard the sounds of "little" girls and the love of sisters as they planned where to sleep. Then held on the memories of them sharing stuffed animals as they went to bed.

I know that these days and moments and years will fly by, but this night is forever imprinted in my heart. It is the kind of moments where you feel as though your heart might actually burst because it is exploding with love! I truly love my family and am MOST thankful for the special gift of Scott, Mycah, & Sienna. I love being a wife and a stepmommy!

This morning, our sweet Sienna woke up with a crusty, itchy, swollen, watery, pink eye. Yep. No warning...it just happened. Needless to say, she didn't go to school. So the cuddling continued--between washing her hands and sanitizing everything! :) She might have been treated to a few more homemade sweet turkeys (oreos, candy corn, Hershey kisses, mini M&M's, & icing to make it all stick) and a tea party with hot chocolate, but we did squeeze some water in there and an orange. :)

This has truly been a very special start to the week. I do believe that this Christmas season is going to be the best one I have ever had! Thank you, Jesus, for the blessing of YOU and the extension of You I see in my family!!!

Stay tuned for more posts this week. I am ready to write and ready to share!!!

I like to move it, move it!

Happy Monday to you!

The DeWeil clan enjoyed a fun weekend together! No pictures this weekend (sorry!).

Friday, all of us were zonked! Who knows why? We enjoyed some pizza, cookies, and all snuggled up on the couches watching Wipeout. There were tons of laughs and it really was a memory making time. I think the funniest thing was not watching Wipeout, but watching Scott watch Wipeout. When he starts laughing so hard and for an extended time, it cracks me up! :)

Saturday was a fun sort of day filled with a mystery in the middle. Scott & Mycah went on a breakfast date that morning, so Sienna and I made some pancakes and turkey decorations for the front door. Then all the ladies got ready and all dolled up and went for an adventure of our own. Sorry...we are sworn to secrecy from Scott (who does read here so I cannot reveal all the deets). Let's just say we had a great time! Scott enjoyed (errr...I don't know if that is the right word?) watching the Clemson game while we were away. When we arrived back, at half time, we had lunch and chilled out for a little while. Saturday night we went over to our dear friends, and the girls' aunt & uncle's house, Craig & Ala. The girls played with their sweet boy Jack and we all enjoyed some yummy food, great conversation, and lots of ooey gooey marshmallows as we sat out by the fire. Fun times!

Sunday was another great day! From breakfast, everyone getting ready for church, all going to church together, and enjoying an amazing message at church, it was a GREAT morning! Lunch was yummy too and then the afternoon was spent playing games and getting into adventures outside. Mycah enjoyed trying to use the backpack blower to clean off the bazillion leaves in our driveway and back yard. Sienna created a fun, yet challenging, game that we all played...and she won!

It was a great day! The day ended with playing some Super Mario Brothers on Wii and cuddling up on the couch. Yay for the weekend!!!

I sure do love love love love my family! :)

Now, I am about to clean this pit of a place I call a house. From having back issues to having bronchitis and not being able to do anything without coughing up a lung, this place is overdue for some cleaning. So, I'm gonna "move it, move it" as I clean up...or at least get a good start on it. If you are free and want something to do, I am sure I could find something for you here! :) Come on over!

Have a happy Monday!!! Love you guys!

i'm gonna love you through it

So. I love country music and one artist I have always loved is Martina McBride.
I heard this song tonight, coming from Sienna's last soccer game, and thought of my amazing husband.
I realize this song is about a woman with cancer, and I do not have cancer.
I would never want to compare my issues with those of someone with cancer.
But what I know is that I could not go through what I have been through, and am still going through, without my husband. I know this has been hard for him. I know that he feels the weight of this every day and if he could take it all away or fix it, he would. God has certainly blessed me in mighty ways through the strength, support, understanding, encouragement, and honesty from my husband, Scott DeWeil.

I have chosen some of the lyrics that mean the most to me. If you want to hear the song, you can check it out below. Just needed to brag on my amazing husband for a few moments. :)

he said, “i know that you’re afraid and i am, too
but you’ll never be alone, i promise you”

when you’re weak, i’ll be strong
when you let go, i’ll hold on
when you need to cry, i swear that i’ll be there to dry your eyes
when you feel lost and scared to death,
like you can’t take one more breath
just take my hand, together we can do this
i’m gonna love you through it.

she said, “ i don’t think i can do this anymore”
he took her in his arms and said “that’s what my love is for”

and when the road gets too long

just take my hand, together we can do it
i’m gonna love you through it.
i’m gonna love you through it.

Praying blessings over my husband and for all of you that may be going through a storm.
Never forget that "God is good. His love never quits." 2 Chronicles 7:3b
Don't give up on the God who has and will never quit on you.
Believe. Have Faith. Love.

I have to share!

Okay.
So I wasted invested a little time browsing the DIY/Craft section of Pinterest this morning and found the best site.

The Dating Divas.

I am not sure if you know this site, but you should.
It has amazing and creative ideas for dating your spouse/significant other but also great ideas for gifts, kids, and family members.
Links to download helps, templates, and projects are readily available.

My first finds to try:

Love love love this site and am excited to have some creative assistance in keeping that spark from ever dying with my man!

Here's to hoping you can have a mushy-gushy day with those you love! Make sure to tell them how much you love them...that never gets old! :) Love is a verb (thanks, DC Talk for bringing that phrase to mind) :)
